If you already own an HTVRONT A200 Tumbler Heat Press, you’re probably used to creating beautiful designs on straight and handle tumblers. But what about classic ceramic mugs? With the new A200M Mug Plate Module, your A200 can now handle mug heat pressing as well.

What Is the A200M Heat Press?
HTVRONT has always focused on making heat pressing simple, reliable, and efficient for beginners, hobbyists, and solo entrepreneurs. The A200 series is a perfect example: an automatic tumbler heat press that combines professional results with ease of use.
The key innovation of the A200 platform is its modular design. By swapping different plate modules, the same base machine can handle:
- Straight tumblers
- Handle tumblers
- Mugs
A200M simply means: A200 + Mug Plate Module.
📌 Current availability: HTVRONT currently sells the standard A200 and the A200H (for handle tumblers). The A200M (full machine + mug module) will be available in the near future. However, if you already own an A200 Tumbler Heat Press, you can purchase the mug module separately and upgrade your machine right away.
Here’s What You Need to Sublimate a Mug
🔹 Basic Consumables
- Heat-resistant tape
- Heat-resistant gloves
- Scissors
- Sublimation paper
🔹 Main Objects
- 15oz mug + 15oz heat press mat
- 11oz mug + 11oz heat press mat

- IdeaStudio (software)
- Sublimation printer
- A200M Heat Press
5 Steps to Sublimate a Mug with A200M
Step 1: Power On & Set Parameters
1) Turn on your A200M Heat Press.
2) Set parameters based on mug size:
| Mug Size |
Temperature |
Time |
Pressure |
| 11oz mug |
390°F |
420 sec |
100 LB |
| 15oz mug |
390°F |
520 sec |
100 LB |
3) Wait for the machine to preheat to the set temperature. The display shows the current temperature.
Step 2: Print & Apply Sublimation Paper
Software Setup (IdeaStudio)
- Open IdeaStudio → select HTVRONT A200 Auto Tumbler Heat Press from “My Device”.
- Upload your design or choose from library.
- Select correct Canvas Size and Mug size (11oz/15oz).
- Adjust image position → click Clipping Mask.
- Important: Click Flip (Mirror) before printing.
- Click Make → Print Settings: Orientation Landscape, Paper Type Epson Matte, Quality High.
- Print onto sublimation paper → let dry completely.
Apply Paper to Mug:
- Trim printed design along edges.
- Clean mug surface (no dust/oil).
- Secure one side with heat‑resistant tape.
- Slowly wrap paper tightly and smoothly around mug → no wrinkles.
- Secure the other side with tape.
Step 3: Wrap with Heat Press Mat
⚠️ Note: 11oz and 15oz mugs require different heat press mats.
- For 11oz Mug: The side with the arrow faces upward toward the mug rim (thicker top ensures better heat transfer).
- For 15oz Mug: Labeled side faces outward.
Step 4: Heat Press
When Start button turns green, put on heat‑resistant gloves.
- 11oz mug: Insert from left side, rim outward, within marked line.
- 15oz mug: Insert from right side, rim outward, within marked line.
🚫 Important: Do not press two mugs at once. Ensure the cup opening (rim) is never facing inward.
Press Start → machine automatically applies pressure and heat. Wait for countdown → machine beeps and auto‑releases.
Step 5: Hot Peel
- Wait 30 seconds after press finishes.
- While mug is still warm (not burning hot), carefully tear off sublimation paper.
- Do not rinse with cold water immediately (thermal shock can crack ceramic).
✅ Your mug is ready. Let it cool naturally on a heat‑resistant surface.
Conclusion
The A200M Mug Plate Module transforms your existing A200 Tumbler Heat Press into a versatile mug pressing machine. Whether you’re creating personalized gifts, starting a small business, or simply exploring sublimation, the A200M makes the process automatic, repeatable, and professional.
With the right settings — 390°F, correct time per mug size, and proper wrapping — you’ll get vibrant, scratch‑resistant mugs every time.
📦 Upgrade path: If you already own an A200, just buy the mug module. If you’re new to HTVRONT, watch for the official A200M release. Happy pressing!
Frequently Asked Questions About Mug Sublimation with A200M
Can I sublimate a mug without a heat press? How is A200M better?
Yes, you can use a convection oven with a heat-resistant wrap, but results are less consistent. The A200M Heat Press provides even, automated pressure and temperature (390°F), eliminating guesswork. This reduces ghosting and uneven edges, making it ideal for selling mugs as a small business.
Why does my sublimation on mugs look faded or blotchy?
Faded results usually come from three issues: 1) Insufficient temperature or time (ensure 390°F for 420/520 sec), 2) Uneven wrapping (paper must be tight and wrinkle-free), or 3) Non-coated mugs (only use sublimation-ready mugs). The A200M's even pressure eliminates most pressure-related inconsistencies.
What’s the difference between A200M and using a mug oven?
A mug oven heats the entire mug evenly but requires manual wrapping and offers no pressure. The A200M applies controlled pressure (100 LB) and heat simultaneously, which is critical for vibrant, scratch-resistant sublimation. For high-volume or professional results, a dedicated heat press like the A200M is far superior.
Is A200M good for beginners / small business?
Absolutely. The A200M is automatic, so you don’t need to guess pressure or timing. Many users recoup the machine cost after selling ~20 cups. It’s reliable, repeatable, and perfect for craft fairs, Etsy shops, or personalized gifts.
